Publius Vergilius Maro, poeta Romanus, celeberrimus est propter suas magnas operas litterarias, inter quas Aeneis maxime eminet. In opere suo, Vergilius pietatem et amorem exponit, et per Aeneam, heroem, exemplum virtutis et pietatis praebebat.
